We are in search of a Director of Engineering who will work with the Resort Leadership Team to develop maintenance programs, engage team members, maintain an accurate budget, and find opportunities that better equip the organization to achieve its established annual business goals.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Develops and completes the pivotal initiatives for the Engineering department, and makes adjustments to the operations in order to meet the strategic goals and interests of Resort Operations.
- Conducts consistent walk-throughs of each resort tower to visually assess the physical structure(s) of the building.
- Maintains the level of safety, efficient maintenance, and operation of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and any other related equipment.
- Assigns routine maintenance tasks on public spaces, meeting rooms, guest rooms, outlets, back-of-the-house spaces, and grounds.
- Assigns and verifies completion with all Maintenance Technicians of all repairs, replacement, and renovation projects to offices and employee work areas.
- Ensure that the property’s Emergency Preparedness and Safety Awareness Plan(s) are updated and current at all times.
- Maintains an accurate inventory of operating supplies, and ensures that accurate purchasing procedures are followed to maintain an adequate supply.
- Ensures all assets of the department, equipment, supplies and storage are accurately locked and secured.
- Develops and maintains human resource management practices that are performed by subordinates which include recruitment, performance management, and corrective action in partnership with the HR Business Partner.
- Develops and leads the financial spending of the operations as it relates to the established annual budget.
- Other duties as assigned by Senior Leadership.

To fulfill this role optimally, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 5+Years of engineering experience in hotels or related industry
- 4+ years of a leadership role in the same or similar environment
- Flexible Schedule
- EPA – OSHA 10-30 – CPO certifications (Preferred but not required)
- HVAC – Electrical – plumbing specific
- Experience in handling operations operating under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
- Ability to write and speak English to comprehend and communicate job functions to engineering staff
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- BA/BS/Bachelor’s Degree
- CPR/First Aid
