As a Loan Servicing Supervisor, you will be responsible for approving the work of Loan Servicing staff, developing operational strategies, ensuring compliance with tax reporting requirements, and completing audit requests. Your role includes collaborating with team members across departments, conducting performance reviews, training staff, creating and updating SOPs, generating reports, identifying operational weaknesses, and using technology efficiently. This is a hybrid role.
What will you be doing as a Team Member?
- Review, delegate, and approve tasks performed by Loan Servicing staff at all levels.
- Assist in creating and implementing strategies for operational activities, including payments, collections, and cancellations due to foreclosures and bankruptcies.
- Maintain compliance with internal and external reporting requirements, including IRS forms (1098, 1099).
- Handle audit requests, review loan servicing controls, provide sample sets, and support cash reconciliation.
- Work effectively with HGV team members to implement changes and complete special projects aligned with company goals.
- Assist management with staff performance evaluations.
- Train and cross-train team members on various functions.
- Create and update standard operating procedures to ensure accuracy.
- Run existing reports and facilitate the creation of new reports to support duties.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
To fulfill this role successfully, the individual should possess the following qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience:
- 3-5 years of related experience in a similar role, preferably in bank/cash reconciliation, accounting, or bookkeeping
- 1 year of supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial documents, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues.
- High attention to detail for checking figures, postings, and documents for accuracy.
- Knowledge and understanding in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).
- Familiarity with mortgage/loan servicing applications (e.g., Servicing Director, NLS)
- General accounting as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Bookkeeper (CB) preferred but not required
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience in automating and standardizing processes
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication
